Devour Music

1. Happy New Year!!!! This composition is inspired by the special nature of the number 2025. Not only is it a perfect square, but it is also the square of 45—the sum of all of the digits from 1 to 9.

2. The structure of the piece is very simple: the piece repeats a short section consisting of 5 measures. Each instrument always plays 45 notes per section. It starts with only one instrument. After each section is played, a new instrument is added. (For example, during the 5th section, 5 instruments are used and 45 X 5 notes will be played.) By the final section, 9 instruments are playing simultaneously. Once all 9 sections have been performed, the total number of notes played adds up to 2025.
