Haydn: Cello Concerto No. 2 | Giovanni Sollima, Giovanni Antonini & Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra
Is this really a work by Haydn? Until 1951, this innovative Cello Concerto No. 2 in D major was actually attributed to another composer. In this video, Italian cello virtuoso Giovanni Sollima performs the solo part in this technically demanding work. The conductor is flautist and Baroque specialist Giovanni Antonini, leading the renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, which, like Antonini himself, is known for its historically informed performance practice. The concert took place on 28 February
