My Journey on YouTube

When I started sending back and forth ideas and small loops with a friend of mine a few years back, I didn't think that it would become a thing and would turn into a YouTube channel. What is fun for the most part and a thing I really enjoy doing, it can be pretty hard at times.

I mostly start with nothing but a few notes in mind and then improvise a whole lot, to be at best something I enjoy listening to. The thing is, one big mistake and I have to start all over again, not knowing what I played exactly before.

I asked myself a few times how I could make the process easier and don't put myself under pressure, but it would mean being more structured and working more constantly on song. On the other hand if something's good or not, if people watching is really in my hands, so why the pressure in the first place?

I guess with doing those songs it's kind of an excuse for me having all this gear and justify spending hours just playing guitar. It's a reason for trying new things and since sharing those ideas is a part of this process, being evaluated by others is a consequence.

As much as I care about others, I don't care about them at all at the same time. I think as long as I think it's worth the time I put into running this channel, nothing else should matter that much. And as long as I do those things for myself in the first place it's only myself I have to please.
