Devour Music

In the Icelandic cultural worldview, spiritual transition and connection with nature are integral elements that imbue their artistic expression with a unique color. Nordic musical thought is articulated from an austerity, originating in the nationalist languages of Sibelius and his contemporaries, which can be traced today in ambient music and minimalist neoclassicism. The stage production that closes this season of Young Performers embodies this poetic core in a performative action that, structured around George Crumb's elegiac meditation, intertwines words, music, and dance in an intimate, nocturnal dramaturgy.
