"Run For Cover" (Marcus Miller) Performed on the Smooth Jazz Cruise (2025)
Abbreviated Version of "Run For Cover" by Marcus Miller
"Here’s an abbreviated version of "Run For Cover," written by Marcus Miller for the late great David Sanborn release, Voyeur (1981). It’s been covered so many times, but I HAD to put at least a little bit of our version up here from the Smooth Jazz Cruise, February, 2025.
Special Performance:
- Bravo, Eric Darius, for his soulful, wonderful playing here in the hot seat!
Marcus has always inspired me (to even try to thump on the bass a bit!), but besides a jingle or two in the studios in NYC in the early/mid '80s, I never really got to play with him. For me, this gig was a career highlight (thank you Eric Marienthal, SJC musical director, for the invite!)!
Lineup:
- Marcus Miller: Bass
- Eric Darius: Alto Saxophone
- Arlington Jones: Keyboards
- Kevin Turner: Guitar
- Dave Weckl: Drums
- Muyungo Jackson: Percussion
- Richie Gajete Garcia: Percussion
- Patches Stuart & Marqueal Jordan: Additional Horns
Recording Details:
- Recorded by Dave Weckl on his QSC TouchMix 16.
- Mixed by Dave at his home studio.
