coulou's cafe trumpet meditations (no. 13)
a little reminder that you don't have to assign a judgement and value to everything you do (telling this mostly to myself lol).
it's easy to get in our heads and start judging every little detail of the day, the analysis leads to paralysis type of mindset that can really weigh me down sometimes.
It reminds me of a talk I listened to by Ram Das where he spoke about how we can be so hyper-critical of ourselves and each other, what we do, how we look, how we feel, etc.
it's not that we just experience things, but we've hardwired ourselves to add a judgment on top of every experience we have, which can be so exhausting.
Ram Das then talked about trees, how we see trees in every shape and size and style and when we see them, we usually just see a tree doing tree things in all the infinite different ways it can exist.
We've somehow tricked ourselves that we are so far above nature that there's this extra layer of judgement, we have to exist a certain type of way or we are doing something wrong.
Welp, sometimes it's helpful to think about these things and just try and give yourself an opportunity to exist, be a tree, perfectly imperfect, step out of your own way and enjoy life a little.
