Gaetano Brunetti: Violin Sonata in A Major, L 23 | Tur Bonet · MarchVivo
The Italian-born Gaetano Brunetti (1744-1798) is the greatest exponent of violin sonata in Spain in the second half of the 18th century. His corpus of sonatas for violin and bass exceeds 70 works.
His Sonata in A Major L 23, dated between 1775 and 1779, responds to the new classicist aesthetics, both in its articulation in three movements and in its language, halfway between the styles of Haydn and Boccherini.
