piano meditations #14 [from gargarin's point of view by E.S.T.] 432Hz - Michael Geldreich
Hello everyone,
- The starting point for this session was a piece by one of my favorite pianists, Esbjörn Svensson, with his trio E.S.T.
- Their music was a bridge for me—connecting my different backgrounds in pop and jazz within piano music.
- The way they presented their music on stage was groundbreaking in the jazz world at the time, creating an atmosphere that felt fresh and immersive.
One of their compositions is titled From Gagarin’s Point of View, a reference to Yuri Gagarin, the first human to see Earth from space. From that perspective, our world looks so small, so fragile—without borders, without divisions, just one planet, one shared home.
It's a humbling thought. And on a day like today, as Germany heads to the polls, I can't help but wonder: will we ever learn to see ourselves as one? Beyond nations, beyond differences, simply as human beings.
In this session, I let that inspiration flow freely—not trying to recreate, but to absorb and transform it in my own way. My approach is always about following where the music wants to go—sometimes lingering on a phrase, sometimes drifting into unknown spaces.
Enjoy this session.
